I have always told people I am in the people business.?Regardless of what you do at some point you interact or impact people directly or indirectly.?Without people; colleagues, customers, community you would have no business at all.?With 7.7 billion people in the world my Theme for this week is “People Gratitude”
- There is a great Poem called Hidden Blessings-Anonymous?that focuses on what we have vs what we don’t have.?My first gratitude is The Loved Ones we still have with us!
- With Canada welcoming a record number of immigrants in 2021.?I am grateful for the diversity, new businesses start-ups, investment in our community & kindness new immigrants bring to our country.
- Did you ever notice that children ask the best questions that make us think and question the WHY??I am grateful today for my children who ask me the tough questions.
- Have you ever heard of the saying “behind every successful person is a supportive and loving spouse” who rarely tells you want you want to hear, or sugar coats the reality of a situation, pushes you & sometimes your buttons.?Today I am thankful for my co-pilot who challenges me every day and make me better & yes the buttons too.
- Having moved back to Nova Scotia after a 10-year absence, leaving the corporate world for entrepreneurship I am thankful for Networking & all those individuals who took time for a virtual coffee, answered an invite on LinkedIn and have now become part of my network- such as Steve.?Reach out to someone new for a virtual coffee and ask for an intro or 2.?
- Colleagues-rarely are we ever successful without great support behind us.??I always say “Thank you’ s are free- but priceless” Thank You to all my past and former colleagues for having my back this year!
- Zoom launched in 2012- REALLY???I argue many never heard of Zoom until 2years ago and it has allowed us to connect with loved one’s when we couldn’t.?I am grateful to Zoom and the magic of video conferencing.
- Coaches- remember when someone is pushing you, they care.?When they stop pushing you is when you should worry…
- Do you remember your favorite teacher- I do- Mrs. Crosby- she was warm, firm but fair and inspired us to enjoy social studies!?Gratitude to all those teachers who care and inspire the future generation.
- I have always had a deep appreciation for artists & craftspeople- They tap into their creativity and create things of beauty that put a smile on so many.?Where you can please support #buylocal?& our artists
- Customers/Clients- whatever you call them.?I am deeply grateful for the support this past year and the referrals from them & others to help family and friends.
- Volunteers- I am grateful to the thousands of people who have agreed to help vaccinate others and get us through this pandemic and to all those who give their time and talent in the pursuit of others.
- Those on the frontlines have kept our ship afloat this past year.?A big shout out to all them and a reminder to be KIND!
- Mentorship- introduced early in my career it has helped me immensely and I am grateful of all the advice along the way.?I always ask people- “What advice do you have for me?”
- Community- I am deeply grateful to be back in my home province with the ones I love,?operating a business.?I believe we need to leave the place in better shape and that’s the plan…
