Gratitude is the rarest of all human values in every social class.

Late in the evening, I am returning home. I managed to get on the bus and sit down. a seat with a good view of the road next to the driver's seat. As we were setting off, the driver saw a man running to catch up with the bus. Even though we were already midway on the road, he opened the door to let the man in.

The man rushed onto the bus, but his bag got stuck in the door. Instead of being grateful to the driver for stopping to pick him up in the middle of the road, he started shouting and being arrogant. The driver was very patient and polite, but he still had to listen to this man’s insults. He gave an answer but it didn’t seem to appease the man.

After about 10 minutes of this altercation, I noticed that the driver seemed to disheartening look on his face and I could see questions in his eyes: why had he been so kind as to let this man onto the bus?

It was such a sad sight that even I felt disheartened. It made me think about how sometimes our kindness can be taken advantage of and how people can be so selfish and ungrateful. No matter how good we are, there will always be people who will take our kindness for granted and let us down.

In life, it’s important to remember that we should always be kind and generous, no matter what people do or say. We should never lose hope in humanity and do our best to spread love and understanding in our world. After all, kindness is never wasted - it will always come back in one way or another.
