The Gratitude Principle (feat. Narghiza Ergashova)

Written by: Roger L. Brooks

This week,?we feature Narghiza Ergashova on the cover of Kind Magazine . Narghiza is an experienced finance executive who demonstrates the ability to manage sophisticated portfolios and drive targeted performance through business partnership. She provides constant inspiration through her kindness and leadership.?

In a recent LinkedIn post, she writes, “It's tough to keep track of your relationships, especially when you're always on the go professionally.?We all know that keeping in touch with your loved ones is important, but it can be hard to stay connected when you're always busy. Never forget who was with you when nobody else was.”

If you read between the lines, Narghiza is speaking distinctly of gratitude. Gratitude never forgets who was with you when nobody else was. Gratitude remembers in good times and bad. Gratitude is a constant state of being.

Let's jump into gratitude in principle and what action you can take to make it part of your development as it relates to personal growth.

THE PRINCIPLE OF GRATITUDE:

You are alive, be grateful!

Often we get caught up in routine, which can be dangerous to our soul. Routine keeps us in a mundane state of mind. Work, eat, sleep… repeat.

Yes, having gratitude is being thankful for all that you have; good family, good fortune, good riddance. Yet, in order to walk your own path toward building the best you, go deep in seeking and apply ways of being thankful. Not only in thought, but in expression. When you express your gratitude to others it takes on an entirely new meaning. Voicing it aloud, or sending someone a written message, will ensure that your intention and your expression are felt.

Equally as important is to express your gratitude to your creator, or whatever higher power you may conceive. Thank you, for this new day!

Gratitude, simply put, is a state of being, and in its most compelling form, it’s being appreciative of each moment in time. It should not be forced, nor guilted. It is a feeling?deep within of all things good. Self-transformation is not possible without the inclusion and practice of gratitude.?

There are human emotions that are healthy and unhealthy. Gratitude may indeed be among the most healthy emotions of all. The more you form a habit to implement gratitude consistently into your life, the more you will find yourself being grateful. When your heart is grateful, suddenly you’ll realize that you have enough.?

Difficult times will challenge you most. You may ask, “How can I find gratitude in the loss of a loved one?” The gratitude lies in the time you had when your loved one was there, which goes back to being present and living in the moment. Your sense of gratitude toward others, and of each interaction with them, will be heightened once your own self-importance is reduced. By now, you’ll begin to see how the transformation principles intertwine, intersect, and intermingle for your benefit.

TAKING ACTION WITH GRATITUDE:

Today, begin living a state of gratitude. Start by writing down a list of things you’re grateful for in your life. They can range from family and friends and career, to simpler things like the gift of literacy, environment, or technology. Or, it can even be as simple as your morning coffee.?

Take in a deep breath of gratitude! Go ahead… do it now. Did you feel it in your heart? Did you smile?

As you begin to incorporate gratitude into your habit of new routine, remain conscious about what you think, do, and say. All should be in unity. If you have thoughts of gratitude but don’t practice them in what you do or say, you will defeat your purpose. If you voice your gratitude to another, yet your thoughts are in conflict with that message, the energy of your expression of gratitude is negated.

Include gratitude in your thoughts . . .

Include gratitude in your actions . . .

Include gratitude in your appreciation of others.?

I read anything and everything on gratitude to keep me grounded. I learnt the importance of being grateful for what I have NOW and only then will my future begin to unfold as I ask. To dream of a better future with regret to what you have now only reinforces the energy of what you do NOT like in your life so the universe delivers more of the same.

Great article. Makes me think of a phrase that I have heard about, "Cultivating gratefulness". It takes intentional effort to develop and guard this heart position and lifestyle. Having confidence in the sovereign and benevolent Creator working out all things for my future good, unstained by the negatives of my past and present, certainly helps me to cultivate gratefulness.
