Gratitude and Opportunities
Michele Pew
Award Winning Creative Director/Producer/Copywriter - long and short form content
I want to truly thank everyone for all the birthday wishes from near and far. Every year it's so humbling to be reminded of all the amazing friends and family who have touched my life throughout my 49 years.
Every year I try to take stock of my life. In my heart and soul, I am truly happy and feel so blessed. I am beyond fortunate to have such an incredibly fun, caring, loving and supportive network of friends and an extremely supportive family. Emotionally, I feel so strong.
I began the year with high hopes of launching a successful creative agency called Dog and Bone with my friend, Terence. It's a crazy time in our industry and a challenging time to start something new. I’ve poured my heart and soul, along with my entire 401k, to launch and sustain the business. We have certainly had some great successes that I’m very proud of, but unfortunately, it's not steady enough. I've applied to hundreds a full-time positions to no avail. It seems that so many of these positions are basically already “taken” - but they just need to be posted. NOTE - if you’re a recruiter or hiring manager, please, please, please take the time to give feedback and get back to people; to go 5 rounds of interviewing and then hear crickets is so deflating.
After the house fire in Feb and losing all my worldly possessions (including my car) and only receiving $4,500, to put it mildly, sucked the big one. (I was staying at a friends so his insurance didn’t cover me) Yet again, my amazing network of friends, family and even complete strangers were there for me. I don’t think I had even really digested what an impact this would have on my life, and there you all were with a GoFund me drive to help me get back on my feet. I couldn’t believe how generous everyone was. It was truly humbling. It was like a virtual bear hug and trust me I felt it.
I have been fortunate to have worked with so many of you incredible and talented people throughout my career. You are my work family. And though we don’t see each other often, I love seeing updates of your families and career successes. There are so many fun and memorable times that come to mind when I see your names pop up. You keep me pumped and passionate about what I do for a living.
To that end, I wanted to reach out to you all (again) and ask that you keep me in mind for any opportunities for FT, freelance (big or small) and/or projects for Dog & Bone.
Below my work portfolio (which has my downloadable resume), as well as Dog & Bones’ work portfolio.
Thank you so much for all your love and support. Jackie Poops and I wish you the happiest of holidays.
XO,
Michele
