Let us define fundamental pillars of a happy , healthy & Successful Life ... ... ...
Small little things created by God make me extremely happy
When the river flows towards the sea , it is destined to merge with the ocean one day.
Gratitude for the opportunities & the resources which are gifted to us by Almighty God
They give us happiness, humility ,success & Wealth one fine day.
I remember my Ninth birthday on 10 July 1970. I had to really struggle hard to get a bottle of ROOH Afza Sherbet which was priced at Rupees five in our CSD canteen at the Jullundur Cantonment. I also remember when we use to visit our Grandmother for holidays in Delhi , eating bread & butter in breakfast used to be a big treat.
After joining the Military school at age ten our life totally changed. We used to get sometimes rupees two to go out to the town. We had two choices, watch a movie for 1.60 Rupee or eat sweets in a sweets shop. We used to feel great thrill in eating sweets. Dressed in all whites we used to walk to the Ajmer market & then walk back a few kilometres to the school.
After graduation in 1980 , I got recommended for the Air Force but the final selection & the call letter for joining the training was taking some time. I joined a local construction company to learn Accounts work at a humble salary of Rupees three hundred p.m. Before the month was over my call for medicals & then reporting for training at Air Force academy in Hyderabad came.

Let me tell you what happened in those thirty days that I worked in my first job. There was no fan in the construction site & the month was June in Delhi. Finally when I went to say good bye to my Boss who was also a Sikh gentleman , he refused to believe that I am telling the truth about going as an officer trainee to the Indian Air Force.
Another interesting thing is I got my sisters lady cycle repaired to travel till the office as I understood I cannot afford a Rickshaw every day. I started going home for lunch cycling a few kilometres as I also realised I cannot afford to eat in a Dhaba.
The story of my Life continues ... REAL STORIES BY A REEL COMMANDER ...
