Gratitude
"Thank you"
Two words that pierce to the soul and soften all the rage and misgivings of life.
How often do we remember to be thankful? In all situations we are meant to give thanks.
The negative we presume there is nothing to be appreciated for, simply because pain is involved. Regardless of the form of hurt we may encounter, there always is a reaction to it, that often places us at a better place. That lesson we were too stubborn to learn finally hits us raw. We emerge stronger because in the heat of the confusion, our senses are quick and critical. Such moments develop survival instinct and realization of value in what we involve ourselves in. The beauty is evident at the end, when you realize the 'bad' was actually for our good.
We sometimes think that we deserve so much so that we do not have to be thankful for anything. We forget how cheap a reward it is to give thanks and still we may not afford it. Evidently when the someone passes you the coffee you chug it without noticing the little effort from someone else.
The magnetism of gratitude is a force few would acknowledge yet it lays bare right before our eyes. We hear it in the whispers, but we are ignorant of its importance in our lives. It builds relations, fosters forgiveness and strengthens unity. Every bit of it we give, returns to us tenfold in forms we may not know yet greatly felt, and only thought of afterwards. There is no better feeling than peeling back on the nakedness of our souls and finding something to be thankful for.
The promotion ,the project you nailed at,having your audience engaged at your presentation...that car breakdown that delayed you a little, the raindrop that prompted you to seek shelter, even the scolding you got as a child...all that deserves us to be thankful for. We may learn a thing or two out of all these situations and more.
Most importantly be thankful for life. When you see the day break let that be the start of it and definitely it will spill over to everything. Be intentional about it.
