Gratitude and Joy for Breakfast

Hello friends! I hope you are well. If you know me, you know that I have adopted "Stay Positive" as my mantra. Like many of you, I have been inundated with negative news and it's been a challenge mentally. Because of this, I’ve had to be intentional in my pursuit of all things positive. Sharing my journey with family, friends, colleagues, and sometimes total strangers has allowed me to create deeper connections in my life and remain positive when things get tough. I’m grateful that you’ve traveled with me and I hope it’s been positive for you as well!?

As a wife, mom, daughter, sister, niece, auntie, friend, and professional, it’s easy to understand why people struggle to find joy these days. The lack of humanity we see and experience is astounding. Finding the good in between those displays can be a challenge for anyone.

BUT, there is good! And I don't want to lose sight of that. So I focus on even the smallest glimmers of positivity every day. The process starts for me first thing in the morning and thankfully carries me throughout the day. Simply put, I'm having GRATITUDE and JOY for breakfast!

Gratitude - the ability to be thankful and show appreciation for the many gifts and blessings in my life.?

Gratitude - for the many opportunities to learn, grow, and become the best version of myself.?

Gratitude - a quiet moment reflecting upon the kindness I’ve received and the kindness I give freely.

Joy -? a feeling of great pleasure and happiness stemming from my appreciation of the gifts and blessings in my life.

Taking a moment each morning to be grateful, provides me greater happiness, calm, fulfillment, and joy. I feel positive emotions, I’m learning to savor good experiences, my physical and mental health is improving, and I can build stronger, more meaningful relationships by spreading positive energy. And I am better prepared for the day ahead by enjoying that moment.

The Breakfast Table

So, if you'd like to join me at the breakfast table, for your serving of gratitude and joy, I have a few suggestions:

  • Remember the past with reverence and grace. You are who you are and where you are because you’ve been able to learn, grow, and triumph over the obstacles you’ve faced, the conflict you’ve overcome, and even the trauma you’ve endured at times. We are stronger and wiser for every scenario imposed! Be mindful of the memories and give gratitude for the lessons they provided.?
  • Vow to practice gratitude - Research shows that if you promise yourself, you are more likely to follow through. Vow to be grateful every day, no matter what comes up. There is always something to be grateful for!
  • Engage your community - The most wonderful thing about joy and gratitude is that they can and should be SHARED. No matter the relationship, personal or professional, environments become elevated and richer when they include gratitude and joy. Everyone can appreciate a grateful and sincere heart. And who’d refuse a bit of joy in their day??

So as you begin the day, don't skip gratitude and joy for breakfast. One serving, one moment can be all the difference you need, no matter what is happening.

Staying Positive becomes so much easier with a grateful mindset. Try it for yourself. I hope you'll agree.?
