Gratitude is a great attitude

Gratitude is a great attitude

I was having a week from hell filled with distractions, so much so I was working till the early hours of the morning having only 3 hours if I was lucky to function on the next day.

My car which I have had now for just over a year was spitting out coolant more times than I have had an Orgasm in the last 2 years.

I won't lie for a split second I took my eye off acknowledging my blessings, that's when I had to take that deep breath, take a step back and say to myself.

'Helena fix the fuck up there are people out there more worse than you'.

That was my nudge to remember to be grateful and know that there will be times when days are crap and days that will be good, either way be grateful.

But the most important of all I forgot to be grateful for my health, without my health, how the fuck was I able to function and do my work, enjoy my life?

Ok, my car gets me from A-Z and it comes in handy, its now been fixed and I am back driving on the road where some people don't have the luxury to do so.

I have now caught up with my work load and managed to get some well deserved sleep.

Through this experience I forgot for a split second to be mindful of my blessings. See, we live in this hustle culture which I have mention in previous newsletters, which is designed to burn you out in return you can easily be blinded of your blessings.

Instead, I was too enticed with the fast pace that I forgot to live in the present and be grateful.

I didn't take me too long to take out my gratitude journey and write down everything I was grateful for which, I actually ended up writing over 10 pages.

If you ever find yourself being ungrateful and feeling like your luck is running out, try the below steps, I will promise you this it will get your gratefulness back and get you back to the present moment.

  • Always remember your health is your wealth therefore, if you are blessed to have your limbs in full tack, be grateful if this doesn't sink in follow this link this man will inspire you: wheel chair one arm pull-ups
  • Keep a gratitude journal and write everything you are grateful on a daily basis such as; I am grateful for the warm bed I slept in, you will find you have a lot to be grateful for once you start.
  • Be grateful for the good and bad situations as the good are to be enjoyed whilst the bad in majority of times are lessons not learned, and an understanding of what does not resonate with you no more.
  • If you have a roof over head, food when you need it, water to wash and drink with, just think someone out there has not got that luxury you truly are blessed, be grateful.
  • Be an example to those around you that being grateful is a great attitude to have and lead by example. If you are a parent this is a great and powerful teaching to have.
  • I practice gratitude affirmation which include walking in my home and being grateful for all my furniture and belongs I have.

I can't believe I missed your previous newsletters. This is the most human thing I've seen on the internet in a few months!! Very well written. Now I don't know where I can find a good journal. It's 12AM!
