Gratitude, even for the cold weather and cancelled school!

I’m writing this from my cozy house, watching the snow pile up outside (and the sun taunting me, even though it is below 0) as Zara enjoys her unexpected day off from school. We’ve been hauling Girl Scout cookies in and out of booths in this freezing weather, and honestly, it’s a lot. But as I sit here, I’m reminded how fast these moments pass. The chaos, cold, and constant snack breaks are all fleeting. And someday, I know I’ll miss it.

Before I started my own company, February meant nonstop travel. As Chief Sales Officer of an ed-tech company, I would’ve been gone almost every night, working trade show booths and sitting in sales meetings. There’s no way I’d be home on a day like today. But now? I get to be here. And in this freezing, cookie-filled chaos, I feel so incredibly lucky.

That’s the magic of gratitude—it shifts everything. It turns “too much” into something precious. It’s one of the most powerful spiritual tools we have, and it’s why I love talking about it on The Energetics Podcast.
