Gratitude

Gratitude

“The more you appreciate what you have, the more you will be given by Him. The more you complain about what you don’t have, the more you’ll distance yourself from Him”

Nadir Keval

Since people are human being social creatures, many of us enjoy staying connected on social media. We can probably argue that social media help us connect to certain things, but for me, social media can never be a replacement for real-world human connection.?

The discussion and debate about Work from Home, Work from anywhere or Hybrid working model is the real example that people still believe in the importance of Human connection at certain points.

This pandemic condition and social media “attack” had made us weary, tired, and sometimes want to leave behind, expressing gratitude is better or even the best idea. We define gratitude as “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness”.

Gratitude is the root of happiness. It has a real impact on our emotional wellbeing, mental health, and motivation. When you feel grateful you can focus on what you have rather than what you’re lacking. In addition, when you feel grateful you tend to focus on the present, appreciating right now (“disini kini”). Gratitude tends to give you a feeling of fullness and leads to many other positive vibes including the relationship with others, improved work performance, and satisfaction with your life.?

If you only focus on what you’re lacking, I believe your energy also will bring you down and more negative. This will impact your anxiety, overthinking, and impatience. Probably what you have today is someone’s dream.

Happiness is attained by three things: being patient when tested, being thankful when receiving a blessing, and being repentant upon sinning.?

As Rumi said, “ Be grateful for your life, every detail of it, and your face will come to shine like a sun, and everyone who sees it will be made glad and peaceful.”?

‘If you are grateful, Allah will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, Allah punishment is severe.” QS Ibrahim:7

Sudah bersyukurkah hari ini??

I agree Pak Dudi. Learning about gratitude and contentment is not always an easy task but will be worthwhile along the way ??
