Did you know that gratitude actually brings healing? Our minds can wreck a lot of havoc in our lives, destroying relationships, causing health problems and more.
Life can be filled with pain and turmoil, but the good news is that there is a way to turn it around and experience joy! There is something to be grateful for in every given situation. Gratitude is perhaps the most important key to finding success and happiness in life. To be grateful means you know who you are, what matters to you and what makes life worthwhile. It is easy to get off course bringing about negativity when you forget these things. This is why it is important to create gratitude habits for yourself daily. When we pay attention to what we are grateful for it puts us into a positive frame of mind which further perpetuates success. We all want to enjoy the feelings of happiness and health, we want love and successful relationships. The sure way to gain these positive emotions and successful relationships is to focus on what we are grateful for!
Scientific studies have shown that gratitude is associated with: Greater happiness, positive emotions, lasting relationships, better health, progress in personal goals, awareness, increased generosity and empathy, better sleep and improved self-esteem, just to name a few.
With all these benefits what keeps us from focusing on the positive and being grateful? For the most part our brains are wired to figure things out, so it tends to focus more on the problems in our life. This is not a bad thing if you understand it and you are aware of it.
How can we feel more grateful?
1.Become aware of your critical inner voice. Create a goal or solution to the problem at hand. Write down the plan to achieve the solution. Let your inner critic know that you have handled the problem and can now put it to rest and focus on the good things in life.
2.Smile. Simply use your body to act in a way that shows you are happy and at peace. This will let your mind know to follow suit.
3.Look for and notice nature. Being aware of creation takes us away from ourselves and helps us to focus on our Creator who is good, positive and full of love.
4.Write down on paper at least 3 things you are grateful for each day and then focus on how much happiness and joy these things bring to you. Focusing on our blessings each day will help to keep us in the spirit of thanksgiving and will bring healing to our body, mind and spirit.
