THE GRATITUDE ATTITUDE
?Thanksgiving offers the perfect opportunity to show and tell the people in your life you’re grateful for the roles they play. Do your words and actions relay your gratitude to your family, friends, and colleagues?
?
Home and work lives are busy, filled with a myriad of details and to-do lists. It’s possible to lose sight of the words and deeds that make us happy. Be sure to include time on Thanksgiving and every day to express gratitude. It feels good to give thanks and appreciation, and it’s equally satisfying to receive it.
?
Expressing gratitude not only has benefits to the receiver of the thanks but also provides many wellness benefits to those who convey it. According to studies, an attitude of gratitude eases anxiety, improves sleep quality, alleviates depression, increases mood and relieves chronic pain symptoms. If there were a magic potion that made all of those items a reality, the entire world would want a prescription. However, there’s a less expensive way to achieve the same results with no negative side effects. Simply say, “I appreciate you. Thank you.”

“Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.” – Eckhart Tolle.
?
Practice gratitude daily. Begin by creating a list of people to thank and be specific. Acknowledge even the simplest of acts. It doesn’t need to be a grand gesture. The act of writing a list shifts your mindset into a state of positivity, and it’s a terrific way to start the day.

“Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: It must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.” – William Faulkner.
?
Show your appreciation with a smile, a word of thanks, a card or a gift. Everyone on your gratitude list will benefit from being recognized, and the act of kindness you share will have lasting benefits for you and the people with whom you share your life.
