Grateful for Living in the UAE as a Lebanese Expat

As a Lebanese expat, living in the UAE for many years has brought me an overwhelming sense of gratitude, especially in trying times when my homeland faces one of its darkest chapters.

Lebanon, a country that holds so much beauty, culture, and rich history, is currently enduring hardships that have deeply affected its people. Yet, even from afar, I feel the weight of these difficulties stemming from the concerns on the safety of my loved ones. Thinking about relatives, childhood friends, neighbors, and every person I grew up with.

In contrast, the UAE has offered me stability, security, and opportunities that I do not take for granted. Here, I’ve been welcomed into a society that thrives on peace, unity, growth, tolerance and respect of diversity - values that have made this country a beacon of hope for so many, including myself.

I am grateful to live in a place where I can work toward a brighter future, not just for myself, but also for my loved ones back home.

Being in the UAE at this moment in history, I’ve come to appreciate the blessings of peace and tolerance more than ever. I carry Lebanon in my heart every day, but I also remain thankful for the life I’m able to live in this land of opportunity and peace.
