Grateful

Sometimes the wheels of life

Just spiral out of control

Sometimes you don’t have

The fortitude to keep up and

In these moments,

These shy little moments,

I like to wonder

What I’m grateful for

I can’t really say a thing?

Or the other see

Truth is, there’s too much

I mean it started with one,?

Gratitude for life

Then I thought of how nice

The sun feels on my face

So I’m grateful for that too

Then I thought of love

And smiled knowing?

I am thankful

I have so much of it to give

Even when life gave me reasons not to

Then I thought of children

And motherhood

And the gift of it all

And became grateful

That I have a chance in a million

But then again I thought of life

And wondered how

I’d even be grateful

If I didn’t have the breath to be

So I’m grateful for that too

The gift of being

The gift of existence

The ability to be grateful

In these shy little moments.
