A Grateful Heart: Positive Feedback and Collaboration as a DNV Surveyor

As a Senior Generalist Surveyor for DNV Healthcare, every survey I conduct is an opportunity to create meaningful change and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Each hospital I visit teaches me something new, and I am humbled by the dedication and resilience of healthcare professionals across the country.

Recently, I received feedback from a hospital team that left me deeply moved:

"Your insights and guidance were invaluable. You didn’t just assess our processes—you empowered us to improve and grow as a team. Thank you for being both thorough and compassionate in your approach."

This feedback resonated with me because it speaks to the core of why I do what I do. Yes, the role of a surveyor is to assess compliance with standards, but it is so much more than that. It’s about partnering with healthcare organizations to elevate patient care and safety.

I am profoundly grateful for the collaborative spirit I encounter in my work. The willingness of hospital teams to embrace feedback, share their challenges openly, and work together toward solutions is inspiring. It is in these collaborative moments that real transformation happens—where teams don’t just meet standards but exceed them.

Collaboration has been the foundation of my career, and as a surveyor, I am reminded daily of its power. To the hospital teams I’ve worked with: thank you for trusting me to walk alongside you in your journey to excellence.

In these moments of gratitude, I am also reminded of the importance of being a lifelong learner. Every survey, every interaction, and every piece of feedback is an opportunity to grow—not just for the organizations I serve but for myself as well.

To my LinkedIn network: let’s celebrate the collaborative spirit that drives healthcare forward. Together, we can continue to inspire change, share knowledge, and make a lasting impact.

How has collaboration impacted your work? Let’s start a conversation!
