Grateful to Give Back

This time of year, I’m always reminded of how much we have to be grateful for. 

Our VARIDESK headquarters is in Coppell, Texas, which is a special place. From day one, our neighbors have embraced us, made us feel welcome, and helped us create a place where people want to come to work.

We’re grateful for our community and for our neighbors.  

That’s why I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to partner with one of those neighbors – the North Texas Food Bank – that works tirelessly every day to combat food insecurity and hunger. Children, seniors and families have access to nutritious meals thanks to the hard-working people there who make it happen day in, day out.

Not too long ago, the North Texas Food Bank announced an ambitious 10-year plan to grow and serve 92 million nutritious meals annually by 2025. Part of the food bank’s strategy was to build a bigger, better headquarters and distribution center. By building a brand-new space, they’d be more centrally-located and in a better position to serve the people who need their help most.

When the North Texas Food Bank told us about their plans, we knew we had to help out. We understand how a positive, focused environment can drive energy and motivation. So, we took a look at the new building and designed a layout for the employee workspace, which included 150 of our VARIDESK workstations. We hope to help employees to work happier, healthier and more productively – so they can continue making a huge impact in people’s lives.  

It’s only fitting that people who dedicate their lives to serving others should enjoy a perk or two, every now and then. And, hopefully funds that aren’t spent on the office can go toward feeding families.

Recently, the brand-new headquarters officially opened nearby. It’s an impressive place. The state-of-the-art facility has a freezer the size of a football field…literally. There’s a community food garden with fresh fruits and vegetables. And, there’s a large transportation dock for trucks to help distribute food even more efficiently – all features that help the food bank to provide more than 190,000 meals daily.

It’s amazing what people can accomplish when we work together.

For people who are battling hunger, having access to food is everything. It’s where hope begins.
