Grateful for Another Work Experience

Thank you to all who made my time at Kiewit Technology Group (the internal IT for Kiewit) so memorable. When I started at Kiewit it was Dec. of 2019. No pandemic. No real experience within a corporate IT department. Very little understanding of architecture, enterprise APIs, industry terminology - you name it, I was starting at the beginning of a learning curve.

I had faith. And, the hiring managers had faith. So together, we embarked on a working relationship.

I didn't really know what to expect. I hoped for goodness and it happened. Early on people helped me learn. I used the phrase "help me understand" almost hourly those first few weeks. I took tons of notes and used Google, internal articles or co-workers to help me learn and understand.

Then, March 2020 hit and we were sent home to continue working. I'll be forever grateful that I was working at Kiewit during the start of the pandemic. Kiewit communicated early and often from all levels of leadership. I'll never forget how that made me feel. When the rest of my life was unstable and changing, Kiewit doubled down on mental and emotional support.

I had a wonderful amount of opportunities while at Kiewit; amazing bosses; a really solid sponsor and more laughter than one should have while in IT. Kiewit Technology Group employs good people, that's for sure.

As Cy Wakeman says "You can stay in joy or leave in peace. There is no third option," I'm grateful for this work experience and the amazing people who created the environment for my continued success.
