Graphic Recording: Which Service Is Right For Me?

When a conference organiser or facilitator contacts us to inquire about our live sketching (graphic recording) services, it's often the first time they've engaged a graphic recorder.
In addition to there being a number of ways that graphic recording can take place, there's a bunch of terminology that can make things confusing (you'll notice I've already described the service using two different phrases in the first paragraph!). So if you've never worked with a graphic recorder, it can all feel a bit overwhelming.
So we made a flowchart to help understand the different graphic recording options available. Whether you're running a conference, hosting a small group chat, or facilitating a 100-person workshop over Zoom, there's a version of graphic recording that will suit your specific event. We've captured a number of options in this chart, as well as some of the questions that we often ask clients to help understand what would be the best service to help their event be a smash hit. Take a look and see what you think:
There is of course a lot more to conference/workshop management and graphic recording than the questions in this flowchart, and there are even more flavours of graphic recording that we could have included here (like collaborative sketching, working on a whiteboard, etc). But this felt like a good balance between keeping it simple and spelling out the decision-making process that we go through when working with a client.
Have you ever worked with a graphic recorder before? If so, do you see your event (and the service you engaged) in this image?
If you'd like to explore what flavour of graphic recording would work for your event, be sure to check out our website or give us a call on 1300 SKETCH.
