Graphic Arts Association and Printing Industries Alliance Elevate Member ROI with a New Organizational Alignment

Regional printing trade associations Printing Industries Alliance (PIA) and Graphic Arts Association (GAA) recently announced a new organizational alignment and service sharing agreement between the organizations. This step will bring additional services, programs and value to members of their respective organizations. The new relationship between the organizations will provide a variety of positive changes to service offerings including:

·        GAA members will have access to the PIA Human Resources Solutions program

·        PIA members will be able to utilize GAA staff to deal with Environmental, Health, and Safety concerns

·        GAA’s Neographics printing contest, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the industry, will be expanded across the organizations combined footprint of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

·        Members will have access to the programs and services of both associations, at member pricing.

·        GAA members will have access to the PIA Legislative Action Center, allowing them to communicate quickly and directly with state and federal legislators on issues of importance to their companies.

·        All expense reducing Group Buying programs will be made available to members of both associations.

Additional collaborative programs will be introduced in the coming weeks.

The two organizations represent printing and print related organizations in four states. PIA has members in New York State, northern New Jersey, and northwest Pennsylvania with GAA covering the majority of Pennsylvania, central and southern New Jersey, and Delaware.

In making this announcement, GAA President Melisa Jones remarked, “The synergistic relationship between GAA and PIA is a natural one as we have overlapping territories in 2 of the 4 states we are in. Also, the demographics of our memberships are similar, making for a significant amount of shared experiences and background.”

This new partnership is going into effect immediately, Ms. Jones reports, “We already have members from both associations researching and taking advantage of a variety of new service offerings.”

PIA President Tim Freeman also commented that, “In addition to a common geography, PIA and GAA members face a lot of the same challenges such as anti-business state legislatures, aggressive agency enforcement, and weakened, but still active, printing unions. This sharing of services allows us to gain economies of scale and provide some very experienced and knowledgeable staff and partner organizations to meet the needs of our members.”

Announcement of this new service alignment between PIA and GAA coincides with their cancellation of existing service agreements with Printing United Alliance (PrUA). This cancellation will be effective March 31, 2021, after the expiration of a 30-day notice requirement.
