Grapes of Our Lives

Grapes of Our Lives

We periodically buy a bag of grapes from the grocery store during the summer months. Seedless, refreshing, portable, and a nice, sweet treat— our entire house loves grapes.

But there’s a dark side to them…the refrigerator.

After getting unpacked from the grocery store, the bag of grapes can sit in the refrigerator untouched for a week, exposed to countless openings of the doors, countless openings, yet go untouched. However, when I eventually take a few minutes, after about a week, to take them out, destem, wash, and then set in a bowl on the kitchen counter- bam, they are gone in an afternoon. Suddenly the entire family can’t get enough grapes, yet everyone looked past them for a week.

Information, benefits, solutions, and processes are like grapes. They are out there, you have them, I have them, your companies have them, but they need to be delivered in an easy to ingest fashion.

Often that is different than what you routinely do, like the grapes.

So, whether that is making a 60 second video to share on LinkedIn instead of posting a blog, a phone call instead of an email, telling a story instead of showing a PowerPoint slide, or even having an onsite in lieu of a video call, don’t let the grapes of your life spoil in the fridge of routine. Get them out there were people can enjoy and benefit from them.
