Grant Alert: DOE Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) has more than $10 million for workforce development!

We found $10M for workforce development projects hidden in the recently passed Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIL)! The Department of Energy recently issued a FOA under the BIL for the "Advancing Equity through Workforce Partnerships" Program. Rather than "infrastructure," the Advancing Equity program is straight-up funding for job training in the form of training solar panel installers: 16 grants to $1.5M will be made.

This is the first of many similar FOAs to be issued, as the DOE plans to fund training for up to 1.5M solar industry jobs in the coming years. Workforce development providers (e.g., YouthBuild grantees, WIOA contractors, etc.) should consider applying for the Advancing Equity program, while building their capacity to train in solar career paths. You must act quickly, as a concept paper is due Sept. 20, and the deadline is Dec. 6. Seliger + Associates has written dozens of funded workforce development grants, including some for energy-related careers.
