Sometimes Things Go Wrong
When things start to go wrong and don’t work out the way you wanted, then it’s entirely possible it can have a negative impact on the entire rest of your day. If left unchecked, your meetings, projects, and interactions can begin to unravel on you under the influence of negativity.
This is because of the propensity for negativity to infect everything it touches.
The Quantum Age Entrepreneur understands that balancing their personal energy field is paramount to having a successful day.
So, while becoming consciously aware of yourself and the way your energy is affecting the people around you is preferable, it doesn’t always happen. Occasionally, it can just get away from you and your entire day is trashed.
Other times, it can go on for a much longer duration and wind up impacting your entire week.
You can even be in a slump for a year or longer due to your inability to manage your energy or resolve an emotional issue that’s holding you back.
Negative Momentum
Energy is attractive, everybody knows that at this point in our evolution. The more poignant the charge of the energy, the more attractive it becomes.
We’ve all been around someone who is in a really bad mood and have that shared experience of feeling like you can’t wait to get away from them fast enough.
This is because, subconsciously, you know this energy will begin to have a negative effect on you. That, if left exposed to this energy for too long, it will begin to impact your own energy field in a negative way.
Part of what is happening is that the person in question, who is radiating this negative energy, will unconsciously begin to attract more negativity to themselves. Before long, they will draw another negative person to them who they will likely have conflict with.
If this person continues unabated, by the end of the day, they can expect to have a series of escalating negative experiences. If they don’t do anything to redirect themselves this energy will leak into their week, perhaps even their month, and who knows maybe even their entire year!
It can and will happen to those who lack the awareness to redirect themselves.
In this way, one negative event will lead to the next and the next and the next.
This is referred to as ‘unconscious reactivity.’
Learning to Redirect
To avoid having this happen to you then you can begin to learn how to redirect. This is the learned and practiced skill of redirecting yourself either during or after a negative event or interaction. To do this is to attempt to literally redirect your thoughts or the conversation or whatever you happen to be engaged in back into something uplifting or positive.
The hardest time to redirect is after the event has already transpired. Now, not only are you potentially feeling negatively about what just happened, but the event itself has already transpired and potential damage done.

So What do You Do?
First, you want to give it your best shot to center yourself with some deep breaths and see if you can redirect yourself back into what it is that you are working on achieving in this moment.
However, if this doesn’t work, then it may be difficult to shake it off for the entire rest of your day, perhaps even your week.
Sometimes it’s not as easy as 1, 2, 3. Sometimes this negative event is impactful enough that it can really get its hooks into you. In this case, no matter how hard you try to redirect, it may stay with you for some time, negatively affecting your interactions and goal set.
The Grand Reset
This is why it’s good to know that you have available to you a ‘grand reset button.’
This means that, at any given moment in time, it’s okay to pull back, step away, and start again tomorrow.
If everything has kind of gone to hell and a handbasket, then it could be time to step back for a minute. But part of being able to step back is knowing that it’s okay to reset yourself and start again tomorrow, or perhaps next week. You may need to scrap the rest of the day or even the rest of the week to create enough space for you to get a good reset.
Sometimes in life you can throw everything at your goals and dreams and nothing seems to work or happen for you. It can be incredibly frustrating and disempowering to feel as if you’ve tried every single thing you can think to achieve your goals and objectives.
So instead of getting yourself deeper into frustration and potentially even depression, it’s okay to step back for a minute. Take a break, get outside, go for a walk, or spend some time in nature. Sometimes this is the absolute best thing for you, is to just step away from the entire affair for a given amount of time.
Then, when you come back to it, you have a fresh set of eyes and a cleared head. Most importantly is that you are more emotionally centered in this now moment. This means that you’re bringing a higher quality of energy to the table for your goals and meetings.
The grand reset button is available any time you need it and as often as you need it.
Occasionally you can keep trying to reset only to realize that it’s just not your week.
If this happens, as soon as you become aware of it, see if you can reschedule the rest of your week and take a couple days off. I know it’s not as easy as that for many people, but you do the best you can. Whatever it takes to stop spinning your wheels and digging yourself deeper into frustration.
Step away, let it all go for now, and then start again tomorrow.
Doing this allows you alleviate stress and get a fresh start with a clean slate.
