Grand Canyon Hires Bryce Drew as its New Head Coach
Grand Canyon hired Bryce Drew yesterday morning - Tuesday 3/17 - to be it's new Men's Basketball Coach. Bryce Drew spent this past season as a College Basketball Analyst for ESPN. Drew was the Head Coach at Vanderbilt for three seasons from 2016-2019 and was let go following the 2018-19 season after the Commodores finished 0-18 in SEC play and 9-23 overall. Grand Canyon had been on the verge of advancing to its first NCAA Tournament the last few seasons under Dan Majerle but came up woefully short this season finishing at 13-17 overall and in a tie for 5th place in the WAC Conference Standings. Bryce Drew should be able to recruit and win in Phoenix as the Antelopes have a great new Arena and great facilities for players. I am looking forward to seeing Grand Canyon in the NCAA Tournament sooner rather than later.
