Graduates in the Industry: Jasper-Rose Ocampo

After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2023, Jasper-Rose Ocampo, EIT, ENV SP, LEED Green Associate started her career with VHB as a Civil Engineer/Designer in Virginia Beach, VA. While at Virginia Tech, Jasper participated in the LDDI program through the following courses:

  • Intro. to Land Development
  • Land Development Design

Jasper is thankful for the experience and networking opportunities that the Land Development Design course offered. When reflecting about her coursework and how LDDI has prepared her for post grad, Jasper states,

LDDI has prepared me for post grad by introducing me to real world projects and allowing me to work with a team to take a project from conceptual design to final design. We were able to work in the same design software that industry professionals use which eased the transition between school and work. This also allowed me to provide project deliverables to clients earlier on in my career than I would have had it not been for the experience I gained from LDDI.

In her recent time at VHB, Jasper has played a role in many different projects for public and private developments. One project that Jasper is passionate about is the Virginia Beach 531 Memorial. This memorial will stand as a tribute to the families and victims affected by the events that took place at Virginia Beach on May 31, 2019.
