For the Graduates
It is the middle of May and graduation season is in full swing around the world. A year ago, I was preparing to give the commencement address to the Class of 2022 at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta. It was truly an honor. Fast forward to 2023 and I find myself in another, complementary seat in this season as I watched my daughter graduate from high school.
I reflected often this week on the words I chose to share with that graduating class. I talked about time, talent and treasure.
How we spend our time matters. I recommend you use it to take risks to learn new things to uncover your talents. Then utilize your talent to create treasures that will ultimately be the legacy you leave.
Now, more than ever, I am focused on the real treasures in life.
The real treasures are not the material possessions you own. It is the human value you create and share with others.
Cheers to all the 2023 graduates! May the start of the next chapter lead to the discovery of talent and a lifetime of treasures. #getstarted
