Graduate School: When to start planning
Leadership Brainery, Inc.
Addressing inequitable access to master’s and doctoral degrees through innovative technology and in-person programming.
‘When should I start thinking about graduate school?’
Planning for graduate school early is the key to success. Give yourself time to truly decide which degree program, institution, and financial aid package is really the best fit. Access to a graduate degree is a key determinant for long term professional success. In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has named jobs that require a master's degree or higher at entry level to be the fastest growing segment of the workforce.
There are many fields including #healthcare , #law , #business and #finance , and #education that either require or prefer an advanced degree. While attaining a graduate degree can be incredibly important, it is crucial to choose wisely.
Leadership Brainery Ambassador Fellowship
The Leadership Brainery Ambassador Fellowship equips high-achieving college student leaders of color with the skills and resources to prepare for graduate school.?
By participating in the Fellowship, rising juniors will gain invaluable experience and support in preparing for graduate school early. Applicants are required to apply in their sophomore year to engage in programing during the Fall and Spring semesters of their junior and senior years of a traditional four-year college degree program. We offer an eighteen-month development curriculum to ensure Ambassadors stay on track for postgraduate enrollment. Planning for graduate school can be difficult to do on your own -- that's why the Fellowship unites a 20-person intercollegiate cohort of students.
We've identified that the first and second year of college are the target years to begin building an inclusive network of support and gathering the resources to be a competitive applicant for graduate school.
