Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering?(GATE) is basically a national examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering / Technology / Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Arts, Commerce and Science.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an All-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising of Faculty members from IISc, Bangalore and other seven IIT’s on behalf of the National Coordinating Board, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development. The GATE score/rank is used for admissions to Post Graduate Programmes (ME, MTech, MS, direct PhD) in institutes like IIT and IISc etc. with financial assistance offered by MHRD. PSUs too use the GATE scores for recruiting candidates for various prestigious jobs with attractive remuneration.

GATE 2022 will be organized by IIT Kharagpur and the exam will be held in February 2022. Exam Notification by IIT Kharagpur will be released probably in September 2022

What’s New in GATE 2022

  • Two NEW subject papers are introduced:

  1. ES (Environmental Science and Engineering)
  2. XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) in Economics / English / Linguistics / Philosophy / Psychology / Sociology.


What is the GATE exam used for?

GATE exam is a national-level test organized?for aspirants who want admission to Master's program or postgraduate engineering (ME/ M.?Tech) or analysis courses at top colleges in India such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc. This time the exam is organized by IIT Kharagpur.

A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program. A candidate who has already completed any government approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2022 exam. Apart from?academic advancement, GATE secures your future by enabling you for number jobs in PSUS, Research Centers, Universities and other technical fields. Keeping its results aside, the mere preparation of this exam helps you in preparing for Indian Engineering Services.

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE score. Selected candidates will be called for personal interview and document verification. GATE score constitutes 75 per cent of marks. The selected candidates will get a pay scale between?Rs 40,000 to 1.40 lakh per month?in addition to allowances.

  1. As per the previous year data the?candidates who obtained 70 or more than 70 marks were listed in the top 100?and in 2019 this top 100 marks that falls under the top 100 ranking was 75+. By this one can estimate that the 70- 80 marks in GATE CSE will get in top 100 ranks.
