GRADO EVENT LOG: Global Tour Shoot Rewinds, OCTOBER MAY MARCH!
grado design
We are grado, an international furniture design brand integrating design, r&d, production and global sales.
A quarter of 2024 reports event shots coming to the front just now. It certainly reminds us that we are honored attendees invited to Salone del Mobile for seven years in a row. We unveil the Solar Lounge Chair’s debut in Milan, showcasing traditional Yi embroidery art exclusively inherited as a part of their minority's heritage, despite being more recognized after official acknowledgments. We also reveal the collaboration with The Loft as our exclusive dealer across the UK residential market at the Clerkenwell Design Week, together refining classic vintage living, modern minimalist living, and luxury living styles. We also emphasize communicating our classic and latest designer series at Design Shenzhen and Shanghai for their shared focus on the emerging future workplace where technology and design creatively transform working modes. A more interactive 3D-model demonstration of dynamic office interior design has been requested since Design Shanghai; we therefore present a full picture of spatial layout from workplace to commercial, residential, and public-interest fields at Orgatec, Cologne as the finale of our 2024 world tour.

- BALANCED LIVING COMFORT -
Living comfort has been brought up as the main point in spatial design by both Milan Design Week and Clerkenwell Design Week, reflecting European designers' and consumers’ focus on the ideal lifestyle in recent years. Aesthetic pleasure and technical versatility collaborate well in the embodiment of Bauhaus and medieval design styles. Pieces such as the Mocacchio sofa, Candy Cane barstool, and Flowing trolley are highlighted by geometric shapes and sleek lines. The Flowing, further, crafted from a combination of wooden boards and stainless steel frames, features flexible adjustments of storage space in various heights. The leather side pockets can hold readings and family toolkits. The smooth swivel wheels make it mobile enough in all directions and adaptable to all spaces, being able to fit in more than just the living room, but also the balcony and kitchen to maximize everyday comfort. The clear outlines, structural frame, and minimalist approach to designing a Bauhaus retro piece, as well as the modern revival of medieval ethos, constitute the basics of so-called balanced living comfort nowadays.
The Clerkenwell Design Week deep dives into customization and sustainable material use, encouraging the creation of personalized spaces that reflect every individual’s lifestyle. The emphasis on high-quality, eco-friendly materials ensures that comfort does not come at the expense of environmental responsibility. By facilitating a dialogue between designers and consumers, CDW inspires innovative solutions that enhance the quality of living spaces, making comfort a central element in interior design trends. Through its dynamic exhibitions and collaborative initiatives, Clerkenwell Design Week effectively contributes to evolving ideas around living comfort in today's homes. It also contributes to refining living comfort by showcasing innovative approaches that enhance user experience through thoughtful design. One of the highlighted methods is the incorporation of synesthesia in design, which creates multisensory environments that engage users beyond traditional visual aesthetics. This approach enables designers to develop products and spaces that evoke emotional responses and foster meaningful connections, thereby holistically redefining comfort.

- AVANT-GARDE DESIGNER SERIES -
The look and feel of the future workplace tends to be an emphasis for domestic furnishing businesses. Our attendance at 2024 Design Shanghai and Design Shenzhen aims to display our understanding of smart working environments, where innovative designer series such as the AI-generated vase lounge chair could become a must today. It also seeks to propose possible problems that might be faced in the future office, such as higher flexibility and mobility, which can be tackled through an all-in-one integrative solution like the Skirt table, working as a video workstation for group presentations and remote meetings. The Modo phone booth and Cosy screen series articulate the necessity of fixing various embarrassments with versatile parts. Special considerations are just one aspect, though.
We also need to figure out the core creative elements of every “futuristic design” that we choose to exhibit in a fast-developing urban space. We name this concept “Reach Boundaryless” to highlight contemporary workspace evolution. We find the potential of avant-garde designs in breaking down traditional boundaries and encouraging interactions among employees, such as the Bento sofa and Locus chair, which are inspired by Bauhaus minimalism, prioritizing aesthetic and structural integrity. Therefore, we make them co-exhibited in the casual social area to exude a relaxing and approachable vibe. Additionally, the Fly lounge chair and Ray coffee table are placed in a private talk space to promote more personal interactions. The sophisticated glass material under downlight unveils a multi-layered texture, carving out a vivid and beautiful working setting.

- DESIGN MULTI-SPACE VERSATILITY -
We continue illustrating the spatial potential with the sand table model but go beyond office interiors; we encourage creativity in remixing spatial arrangements across commercial, residential, medical, and educational spaces. We also enable on-site comparison with the virtual demonstration to reflect upon the gap between the supposed activity pattern and real movement. We co-curate with MusePod, affirming that working time is also living time, without necessarily having to characterize one space independently from another. The Modo Pod sofa and Lamma lounge chair can also be essentials for a casual social setting but may also serve collaborative workshops well. Based on this notion, we share thoughts on how work meets life in different spaces.
Commercial space asks for furniture to serve multiple functions, such as modular sofas rearranged for different layouts or tables accommodating both meetings and casual gatherings. The lightweight materials and soft seating are ideal for moving and encourage collaboration. The neutral colors and styles can be blended with diverse decor styles as well. Edu-health spaces may consider stackable chairs and sofas that allow for different arrangements based on the number of users or activities. Types of furniture with dual purposes, like tables that serve for both dining and group work, and include mobile partitions for either privacy or collaborative spaces, are popular choices. Catering to diverse needs from classrooms and training areas to waiting rooms and consulting spaces is also a necessity. Home living spaces may select sofas that can transform into beds, extendable dining tables, and storage solutions disguised as ottomans or benches. It is also suggested to implement modular pieces that can be rearranged easily to suit different occasions, whether for entertaining guests or family gatherings.
