Grades don't tell the whole story
Centre for Initiatives in Education
CIE is an incubator and centre of excellence for access to post-secondary education. ??
More than 25 years ago, Dr. Aviva Freedman and Dr. Dennis Forcese had an idea. That idea put down roots in 1996 when 40 students were admitted to Carleton even though they did not technically meet the entrance requirements. Through the Enriched Support Program, they had an opportunity to show that they were capable of university level work.
The Enriched Support Program is a unique model of dedicated faculty, staff, and peer support combined with academic enrichment. We have grown into an established first-year university community that fosters academic excellence and inclusion. Thousands of students have entered university through our doors and proceeded into a variety of academic and professional fields.
Do you know someone who might be interested in the Enriched Support Program? If you know a high school student who doesn't meet traditional university entrance requirements or a mature student who wants support as they begin university, let them know about ESP! We have both January and September admission.?Applicants apply directly to our program and have a chance to include references and a personal statement.
