Grace and Love Change Things
Steve Nash
Our goal is to grow the net worth of our clients by employing investment strategy that has worked well historically
We live in an often times hard and unforgiving world. In spite of this we used to have a minister at our church who taught that the only way that people who are in some form of deep struggle with life's problems, addictions or similar personal troubles can only be changed through grace in the form of unconditional love.
To illustrate this point he used an example from the movie world. In Alfred Hitchcock's 1964 film Marnie, Tippi Hedren plays the title character named Marnie. She has a deeply troubled past and her present troubles are exacerbated when she commits significant embezzlements from two employers. She steals from a second employer named Mark who is played by Sean Connery. Mark falls in love with Marnie and marries her. Gradually he learns of the horrible life Marnie had as a child. Mark's solution for dealing with Marnie's troubles is to love her...unconditionally.
Using the Marnie solution in life is counter-intuitive. In many cases it just doesn't make much sense. But I personally believe it works. My reasoning is that creativity improves our world and that creativity is fostered best in an environment that includes freedom and unconditional love. Of course not everyone agrees with my thoughts about this subject and I understand that. But I do believe that life should be a balancing act between freedom and the responsibility that goes with that freedom.
