Grace

As of late, we are all being put into new roles. Some of us have been laid off, others becoming a home-school parent, and some are just trying to navigate working from home (which is difficult in itself). I would have NEVER chosen to be a teacher, but here I am putting together worksheets and helping all three of my kids (8th, 6th, and 2nd grade) feed their minds while trying to run a business and keep my sanity. A challenging task for sure, and one that I don’t succeed at every day.

I want everyone to take a deep breath and give yourself some grace. What’s being asked of you is an IMPOSSIBLE ask! The amount of pressure you are putting on yourself is HUGE and unrealistic. Some of you are doing 2 or even 3 jobs right now, there is not enough time in the day to do it all…and that’s OKAY!

You don’t need to worry about Sarah down the street who has a strict school schedule with her kids and looks to be rocking it…trust me, she is crying in her closet with a bottle of wine when no one is looking.

You don’t need to worry about Danny who is taking on extra work and always seems to be stepping up…he doesn’t have kids to entertain, or at the very least keep a live!

You don’t need to worry about Laura who is posting on her Facebook page about the 5 miles she runs every day or that craft she picked up because she has all this extra time on her hands…she is baking brownies and stuffing her face just like the rest of us.

YOU DO YOU! Only you get to decide how to navigate through life right now. There is no wrong or right way of doing it. The important thing is to allow yourself some grace. It’s not going to be perfect or pretty, but with a good attitude and the willingness to try you are going to be just fine.
