Grab a Sword!
On my wall in my bedroom is a sword. I know, not your usual thing. With it are love notes from my husband and I to each other as well as a few other chosen words. I will share the others at a later date.
Reminders.
Reminders are important. Photos of your favorite people, past and present. Pictures of places you love and have visited. Items you have bought from vacation. Old antiques from Granny’s house or favorite blankets from an adventure you had.
All these things give you memories. Usually very fond ones and you want to be reminded of them. They produce thankfulness as you remember what’s important in life. They produce great endorphins.
I also have reminders in my home (and on my desk) of powerful things that make me strong. A postcard of an eagle. A dream board. A stone that says brave. A beautiful rock. Lots of keys (of course!). As I look at them, they bring to mind strong words that impact my life everyday.
Powerful. Brave. Beautiful. Kind. Dream. Adventure. Strong. Loved. Kindness. Bold. Breakthrough. Intentional. Laughter.
To name a few.
And the sword. It reminds me to read the bible (also known as the Sword of the Word… its serious cutting edge material) and that with a sword I can slay any lies that come against me (metaphorically!). I wake in the morning, and it’s the first thing I see. I am reminded of those two things. I sit and read, pray, study, dwell on the Word. I visualize cutting off the heads of those lies that can creep in from time to time.
What do you have in your house that is reminding you of the amazingness in you? What do you have that triggers good and lovely thoughts?
