Door Knocking with a Purpose!
I've seen a lot of questions in the group recently about door knocking. When do you do it? What do you say? Are you alone?
My first note is ALWAYS BE SAFE! Which means, no, do not go alone. Go with a lender partner (they need the business right now too).
When to door knock can have a few different answers. Often it's the day before you're hosting an open house in that specific neighborhood. But... I have a way to make what to say so easy.
At this time of the year, all the food banks are looking for donations to help families be able to actually serve a holiday meal. And Toys for Tots needs gifts for kids.
How about going to the grocery store and buying 50 or 100 of the reusable bags that are $.99 (if you speak to the manager you may even get them at a reduced cost or free since they have the store's logo on them). Door knock in your neighborhood or the one you are farming with the bags and let them know you are collecting for the food bank or toys for tots. Leave the bags with your card and tell them you'll be back on a specific day to pick up anything they might want to donate and in case they miss you, here's your phone number to reach out.
You haven't tried to sell them anything and in fact you've shown what a giving spirit you have. In the future, you can order bags with your name, logo & phone number on them to leave, but for now the reusable grocery store bags work perfectly.
Easy, right?
