GPT-4 Release Puts Educators on Edge: Is a Flood of Undetectable Student AI Usage Imminent?

As an educator, you may have heard of GPT-4, the latest and most powerful artificial intelligence language model that can generate human-like text with remarkable accuracy and coherence. You may have also wondered how this technology, released just a few days ago, could affect your work and your students' learning outcomes.?

GPT-4 was released by OpenAI on March 14, 2023, and has already been integrated into some products and services, such as 微软 's new AI-powered Bing search engine. GPT-4 is a multimodal model, which means it can accept both text and image inputs and produce text outputs. For example, it can turn a hand-drawn sketch into a functional website within minutes.?

This technology has raised concerns in the academic community, as the potential for AI-generated content to be passed off as original work threatens the very foundations of academic integrity. Academia was already shaken by ChatGPT, which was released on November 30, 2022, and quickly became a popular tool for students to generate essays, summaries, and even code. The release of GPT-4 has only exacerbated the situation.?

The big question for educators has been whether GPT-4 generated text can be detected. As a co-founder of Edukado AI, maker of AICheatCheck, I set out to answer this question by testing our own solution, which has already proven effective against earlier AI advancements.?

AICheatCheck is a state-of-the-art deep learning model that effectively identifies AI-generated content by analyzing linguistic patterns, style, and other subtle cues unique to AI-generated text. This sets it apart from other text detection tools, which often don't rely on deep learning models. With GPT-3 and ChatGPT generated text, our web-app achieved an impressive 99.7% accuracy rate and a 0.01% false positive rate.?

We tested AICheatCheck on various samples of GPT-4 generated text within the education domain, such as essays and summaries. We compared our results with those of other AI text detection tools on the market, but we decided not to mention them specifically.?

The results were clear: AICheatCheck was able to detect GPT-4 generated text within the education domain with a high rate of accuracy. In contrast, the other AI text detection tools we tested were not able to effectively detect GPT-4 generated content, demonstrating that AICheatCheck is currently the only reliable solution for educators to maintain academic excellence and integrity in the face of advanced AI technology.?

Our innovative tool empowers individual educators worldwide to detect and counteract any attempts of cheating or plagiarism using AI-generated content.?

We are proud to offer AICheatCheck as a free service for educators who want to try it out for themselves. There is no sign-up required – simply visit our website www.aicheatcheck.com and start using our web-app right away.?

We believe that artificial intelligence can be a powerful ally for education if used responsibly and ethically. We also believe that educators deserve the best tools available to ensure that their students learn authentically and honestly.?

That's why we created AICheatCheck: to help educators protect their work and their students' future.?
