The Capabilities of GPT-4

OpenAI recently released GPT-4, the latest advancement in artificial intelligence (AI) technology. GPT-4 is a large multimodal model that accepts image and text inputs and generates text outputs. Its capabilities are an improvement over its predecessor, GPT-3.5, in terms of reliability, creativity, and handling of nuanced instructions. OpenAI tested the model on various benchmarks and found that it outperformed existing large language models. It also performs well in languages other than English, including low-resource languages such as Latvian, Welsh, and Swahili.

The model's visual input capability is still in the research preview stage, but it has shown similar capabilities to text-only inputs. Developers can now prescribe their AI's style and task by describing the directions in the "system" message. API users can customize their users' experience within bounds, allowing for significant personalization.

Limitations of GPT-4

Although GPT-4 is an impressive advancement in AI technology, it still has some limitations. Like earlier GPT models, it can "hallucinate" facts and make reasoning errors. Thus, caution should be taken when using language model outputs, particularly in high-stakes contexts. GPT-4 doesn't know about events after September 2021, which can cause it to make simple reasoning errors and accept false statements as true.

It may also fail at challenging problems like humans, such as introducing security issues in its code. GPT-4 can make confident but incorrect predictions and doesn't always check its work carefully. The base model is good at predicting the accuracy of its answers, but this ability is reduced after post-training.

Risks and Mitigations

GPT-4's capabilities are significant, but it poses new risks, such as generating harmful advice, buggy code, or inaccurate information. OpenAI has been working to mitigate these risks by engaging with over 50 experts to adversarially test the model and collecting additional data to improve GPT-4's ability to refuse dangerous requests.

As a result, OpenAI has made many improvements to GPT-4 to make it safer than GPT-3.5. GPT-4 is 82% less likely to give inappropriate content than the previous version, and it follows policies better regarding sensitive topics like medical advice and self-harm.

While OpenAI made the model more resistant to bad behavior, generating content that goes against usage rules is still possible. GPT-4 can be helpful or harmful to society, OpenAI says, so it's working with other researchers to understand the potential impacts.

The Future of GPT-4

GPT-4 is a powerful tool with the potential to revolutionize many industries, from healthcare to finance to education. OpenAI's focus on building a deep learning stack that scales predictably will be critical for future AI systems.

The company has already partnered with Microsoft, and the new Bing search experience now runs on GPT-4. Although it has a usage limit, users can also access GPT-4 with a ChatGPT Plus subscription. OpenAI may adjust the usage cap based on demand and system performance.

The company is considering adding another subscription tier to allow for more GPT-4 usage. As developers continue to explore the capabilities of GPT-4, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the future.

Tweet of the Week

Yigit Konur , the founder of Wope , has shared updates about GPT4 on Twitter. GPT4 is a multi-modal AI that allows users to combine images and text to ask questions. The API supports 32K tokens, and the token limit has been increased to 32K. GPT4 access is free for subscribers, and the pricing for APIs supporting 8K tokens is $0.03 for a prompt token and $0.06 for a completion token.

The GPT4 API is currently only available through a waitlist, and it will be possible to input text and images, but you will only receive a text as output. Lastly, GPT4 has a 40% improvement in misrepresenting information. These improvements are a significant milestone in AI development.

5 Tools to Detect AI-Generated Content

We are exploring many topics on how we can use GPT-3 more efficiently in our SEO efforts. In this article, I wanted to list some tools on how to detect content created with GPT-3 (since GPT-3 is available in the market at the time of writing this article).

Let me summarize some of the highlights of the papers generated by GPT-3:

  • Understanding human behavior:?While AI can quickly generate large amounts of content in seconds, it often lacks emotional connection in some cases. So it can be a challenge to create the tone of content you want.
  • Cutting-edge ideas:?AI generates content based on previously collected data. Therefore, it may not be able to fully convey the newest ideas to you. It works with the data it collects from the internet and the information provided to it.

It is important to remember that there is always a margin of error when testing the tools in the article, so it would not be a correct choice to completely trust the tool's results. The tools can provide you with many different effects in different languages. All tests were conducted in English.

You can find AI content detection tools in the list below. When selecting the sites, I have not included all the sites I have seen, but the ones that I think are useful.

Google Workspace and the Power of AI: A New Era of Collaboration

The latest announcement from Google Workspace is about incorporating generative AI that can help users create, connect, and collaborate like never before. Google is introducing a set of AI-powered writing features in Docs and Gmail to trusted testers. These features will be made available to the public later in the year. The vision for Workspace is to evolve as a collaborative partner that helps users achieve their goals, across Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet, and Chat.

Google's AI-based writing capabilities will be able to generate drafts and help refine and edit them in Docs and Gmail. These capabilities will help users rewrite text and even change the tone of their messages. Additionally, users can generate auto-generated images, audio, and video in Slides, auto-completion, formula generation, and contextual categorization in Sheets, and capture notes in Meet.

Google is taking great care in building features with AI by experimenting thoughtfully and taking user feedback into account. Google's products are built with safeguards against abuse, protection of user privacy, and respect for custom controls for data governance.

While AI can provide helpful suggestions, it is no replacement for human ingenuity, creativity, and smarts. Google's products will be designed according to Google's AI principles that keep the user in control, letting AI make suggestions that users are able to accept, edit, and change. The administrative controls will also be available for IT to set the right policies for their organizations.

The new AI-based capabilities get better with human feedback. Google will launch these new experiences this month via their trusted tester program, starting with English in the United States. Google will continue to iterate and refine these experiences before making them available more broadly to consumers, small businesses, enterprises, and educational institutions in more countries and languages.
