Example of the unusual - Portable Toilets
In recent times, we were challenged with finding a simple, cost effective solution to monitor the effluent tanks level in portable toilets, so that an alert would be sent to the operations personnel to advise when a specified level was reached.
It might seem an unusual requirement to some, however in reality, it is simply a “tank” and a non-powered asset that requires a condition to be monitored.
This would allow for a service vehicle to be organised/scheduled to attend the site. This would save multiple unnecessary trips to service each portable toilet, translating into less number of trips (fuel), less wages (driver), and improved efficiencies overall. Additionally, the ability to utilise the portable toilets location on the map providing inventory management and run various reports for analysis - further translating to greater efficiencies, decreased expenditure and increased profits.
By fitting out the service vehicles with standard GPS tracking devices provided added benefits to the entire operations also – a complete end-to-end operational gain.
The solution is very inexpensive, easy to install and will last up to 7 years with little or no need for maintenance. All automated so very little interaction day-to-day is required!
