An Overview Of GPR Survey in India?
Ground Penetrating Radar survey (GPR) is a geophysical locating technology that uses radio waves to obtain photographs of objects below ground level without having to dig up the soil. The objects that need to be photographed shouldn't be too far underground (not more than tens of meters below surface level).
GPR is-
For subsurface exploration, a geophysical method that is exact, rapid, and high-resolution is used. The treatment is non-invasive, non-destructive, and fully safe.
The only non-intrusive technology that can accurately locate non-metallic subsurface features and utilities (for example- clay, concrete, fiberglass, PVC conduits, or fiber-optic cables).
??A method for qualified and experienced professionals to obtain unique survey data as well as geophysical expertise to analyze and interpret the results.
GPR Method
Earth Penetrating Radar works by sending high-frequency radio waves pulses through an antenna into the ground.?
For most geological materials, radar wave speeds range from 60 to 175 mm/ns.
In poor conductivity materials like dry sand or granite, GPR waves can travel about 30 meters deep.?
GPR survey signals may be reduced or absorbed by clays, shale, and other high conductivity materials, resulting in a depth of penetration of 1 meter or less.?
The depth of penetration can also be determined using the GPR antenna.
In contrast to frequency, penetration depth varies.?
The smaller the item to be resolved, the higher the antenna's center frequency.?
Higher antenna frequencies provide more resolution but lower penetration, and vice versa. The results' lateral and vertical resolution varies from 0.01 to 1.0 meters depending on the antenna frequency used.
penetration depth, but higher frequency antennae are employed in non-destructive testing for high-resolution imaging.?
GPR is best suited for recognizing objects of various sizes at various depths and under various ground conditions since it has a wide range of frequencies (typically 50MHz–2.5GHz).?

·???????The full form of SUE is Subsurface Utility Engineering
What is SUE?–
The full form of SUE survey is Subsurface Utility Engineering. Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is a civil engineering profession that entails the analysis of underground utilities and the identification of potential conflicts with project design in order to avoid hazards.?
Utility owner record drawings, geophysical methods to find a utility's horizontal position, vacuum excavation to pinpoint the vertical position, and a survey of this data referenced into a topographic map or several other types of mapping are used to identify these dangers.
SUE Technologies- Many different technologies are used. Data can be gathered through GPS(Global Positioning System), Light detection and ranging (LiDAR) and Robotic Total Stations, then imported into the card program.
SUE has some positive impact on project performance like-Lower design effort on a per-lane mile basis. During the construction phase, there are fewer expenditures connected with modification orders relating to utilities.
Minimal impact on total construction cost
