GPAI SUMMIT 2023
At a time when artificial intelligence (AI) and its various applications are dominating the governance and industry landscape, the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) on December 12-14 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi is an opportune moment.
The summit is expected to yield significant outcomes in the areas of responsible AI and AI regulation, among others.
More than 29 countries are expected to attend the summit, including the United States (USA), France (Germany), Australia, Norway (United Kingdom), Finland (Kenya), Ireland (Belgium), and Germany.
On November 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit, and later on, delegates are expected to participate in several sessions related to AI, according to a statement from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology . The government is also working on a multilateral, consensus-based Declaration on AI, which will focus on ways to reduce risks and promote innovation.
The GPAI India meet, is the first big event of the new GPAI India council chair, India, which took over from France in November.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is also hosting an AI Gamechanger Award.
The award was called for applications in November, and the top 10 startups were selected by a review committee.

The GPAI Summit is part of the government's Global AI Expo where more than 150 startups will showcase their innovations.
Major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon Web Services will be present.
For example, Meta will showcase VR experiences from five startups in use cases like Defence, Skilling and Training, Healthcare, and Accessibility.
Four AI companies will present their solutions for Generative AI.
谷歌 plans to showcase AI /ML interventions in areas like Agriculture, Sustainability, Health, and Generative AI.
微软 will provide a platform to 7 startups that have partnered with them.
Government entities like Bhashini, the National Information Technology Centre will also present presentations at the GPAI Summit.
