Mauro is one of the top corporate governance voices in Latin America, having served on the boards of some of the most important companies in Brazil - including Vale, Petrobras, Eletrobras, Totvs, Klabin, among others - with significant experience in crisis management and CEO succession.

He has led two of the leading corporate governance institutions in Brazil - Chairman of IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance) and CEO of Amec (Association of Capital Market Investors), and earned multiple recognitions, including the ICGN (International Corporate Governance Network) Excellence in Corporate Governance Award in 2018. He has participated in national and international efforts to develop corporate governance, including policy making, legal reform and best practices guidances. Under his leadership, Amec launched the Brazilian Stewardship Code.
