The Government District within the New Administrative Capital stands as a pivotal landmark, holding paramount significance for the city. Its primary objective is the comprehensive enhancement of methodologies and mechanisms embedded in the state administrative apparatus, incorporating cutting-edge systems of modern administration. Spanning 360 acres, the district, orchestrated by the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), encompasses crucial government edifices, including the Presidential Palace, the Council of Ministers building, and the new House of Representatives and Senate. This strategic development underscores our commitment to advancing administrative efficiency and fostering a state-of-the-art governance infrastructure.
The Government District is strategically placed in the central eastern part of the New Administrative Capital. It includes ten ministerial complexes with a total of 34 buildings, accommodating around 51,500 employees. It also has the Prime Minister's office and the Parliament building on a large area of 430 acres.
Construction started in 2015, at the same time as the Administrative Capital's cornerstone was laid. Employees have started moving to the new headquarters in phases, with more to follow until the entire transition is completed. This move is part of our commitment to making government operations more efficient and effective.
