This week on Easy to read Deep Thoughts ughts is our special guest Randal Wimmer . I joined Randal's school Government Contracting Academy 3 years ago and since then, I had the world-changing opportunity to hear his recommendations on most business/life challenges I've faced.

How does artificial intelligence impact proposal writing? Logically, having software to pump out the most time-constrained part of the GOVCON proposal process is a significant variable. The guesswork comes when thinking a few moves out.

Example:

-Is it still an advantage if everyone is doing it?

-If everyone is doing it, what makes 1 company better than the other?

-How would the government tell?

Educated guess

I think Randal will agree, that “Risk” is still the most the prime consideration from the government's perspective in selecting a winner.

Risk is not dependent on AI improvements. Example: super efficient proposal writing processes with poor cyber security = companies with a high quality cyber security plan will be more appealing to the Federal customer over those without.

AI proposal writing = Null.

If the standard GovCon burdens are reduced, I wonder if the government's expectations will increase. I know Randal well enough to predict his answer to these questions. I’m not too sure about his answer to this one. I'm interested to hear his insight.

The dramatic differences between the speed of private innovation and the government's ability to adapt to it will always be to the inspiring government contractor's advantage.
