This post is motivated! Derek O'Brien is no benchmark of proprietary! Lot is needed by him to introspect within TMC! The need is that the way MPs unanimously pass their salary raises; same sincerity be in parliament functioning too! MPs are the parliament! There be a code of conduct! Breach be dealt with measures which are strong enough to deter! Or else andolan is what is the norm in the houses; and exchequer money is draining! Whatever said and done.......the government of the day has not crossed the acme of a la emergency! Reference has been made to a write up by an ex bureaucrat Mr Shukla! "Surely, this can happen only in a country where not only the law but everyone is an Ass!" This statement in his write up; is a mirror unto all!

No wonder; in this nation, the government remains elusive about the military; where on whims; they are termed Class A when no benefits are to be accrued; and Class-less when likes of NFU is to be granted! Mr Shukla would be quite aware of such blatant injustice; but would never write! This is being brought out merely to emphasise that none; individually or as a group are above board! Bureaucracy and military are no exceptions!

Whether democracy existed before and strangled now; or whatever be the state today; is a mere conjecture! Parliament must function! The bureaucracy should take their masters a la politicians, along; and form a Code of Conduct to facilitate a smooth and an efficient functioning! Democracy is no guarantee to a just dispensation; as is any other form! But the smooth functioning of the Parliament will be in nation's interest! Successive govts can keep bringing new bills, annulling old; undoing what previous govt did et al! A house functioning smoothly; any day will be better than continuous cacophony in the houses; and seemingly we witnessed this 2021 monsoon session; all strongly vying for an Olympic gold!

Govern the government; well when cat holds the bell too; who will bell the cat!
