Gourmet Guests - A Combination of Two of the Most Popular Genres in Modern Television; Celebrity and Food
?Gourmet Guests is a Fresh, New Talk Show Format, Based on Your Ideal Celebrity Dinner Guests
Remember the classic ice breaker question? “Which celebrities would you choose to invite to your dinner party?” “Gourmet Guests” is a reality talk show based around four to six celebrities, the stories they share and the arguments they partake in whilst seated around the dinner table. Based in a high profile London restaurant, the guests are invited to enjoy the finest food and wine in exchange for anecdotes and laughter. Blind to who each celebrity will be sharing the table with, the guests are revealed one by one.
Hosted by a permanent presenter who will direct structured questions at the celebrities, the evening will flow with a steady rhythm, old partnerships will be reunited and old feuds will be reignited. Each week the celebrities are carefully chosen to ensure that a good mix of vibrant conversation is delivered.
Primary Focus
Dinner Guests – Four to six high profile celebrities from varying backgrounds such as film & television, arts, sport and business, etc. Each guest will be arriving at the restaurant with no idea of whom they will be sharing the table with. They will be sat down in order and each guest will be revealed to each other, one by one.
Shot as a fly on the wall format, the celebrities will interact with each other in a natural manner. Post dinner party, each celebrity will give a closing interview to camera to give their view of how the night has progressed.
?
Secondary Focus
Chef and Restaurant Staff – To add a secondary element to the production, the cameras will be filming behind the scenes in the kitchen and capturing the real life pressure of cooking a dinner party for the celebrities. This footage will be cut to throughout the length of an episode, along with interviews to camera on how they feel the night is going and how the celebrities respond to the food.

Alternative Option
The series could be filmed without an anchor host directing questions at the celebrities and could be shot as a fly on the wall format.
?

Audience
Ideally suited to a prime time midweek broadcast, “Gourmet Guests” is aimed at the 18-55 demographic and will have cross gender appeal. It will capture the audience as they are able to see their favourite celebrities from past and present interact with each other in a more relaxed atmosphere.
?
Talent
Each episode will have a permanent well known anchor host, for example Claudia Winkleman, directing questions at the celebrities throughout the length of the meal.? Supplementary to this, there would be a recognisable voice over to portray a sense of narrative over the footage. The presenter and voice over artist would have the ability to offer a light humorous aspect to the role and have natural appeal to the intended demographic.
?
Revenue
“Gourmet Guests” would have a huge appeal to both male and female viewers within the 18 to 55 age bracket and we feel that this would be an ideal target audience for companies and brands within the sectors of finance, alcoholic drinks, travel & leisure, food, film and fashion. There would also be sponsorship opportunities for a company who wish to be directly linked with the production.
?
Other Media Platforms
We feel that “Gourmet Guests” will engage well with its target audience and have the strength to command an online presence or a period shown on a later time slot on a sister channel in the form of a post episode, unedited full length dinner party.
?
Diversity
Being an equal opportunities employer, Tilehouse Productions Ltd understands the importance of the unique contribution offered by employees and documentary/entertainment foci in terms of culture, race, gender, nationality, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, opinions and beliefs.
?
We believe that ”Gourmet Guests” is a fresh and innovative way for an audience to view their favourite television and media personalities, linking two very popular genres, celebrity and food, hence, giving the production the ability to command a wide audience which would be eager to return week after week.
