Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party

Gotta Fight For Your Right To Party

I am moving a majority (OK, you may ask, in quantitative versus qualitative?) of my new posts to TIK TOK in order to meet the attention span of my new and old contacts. Focusing on things that we all have in common, as we age -- memory, weight, opinions, and quality of life.

  • Provides ability to segment pieces and interests. No long articles. No losing my attention span in the middle of writing an article. Or losing readers much sooner. Thank goodness!
  • Reduce duplications. I'm making it easier for those who aren't digitally challenged - it'll be a few years until my newspaper friends and foes discover TIK TOK, if ever.
  • Game changers for business - TikTok users are now able to upload 10-minute-long videos in 2022. TikTok started in 2018 and allowed users to create one-minute videos. That tripled to three minutes in 2021.?
  • My new focus will be on quality of life, and I plan to use my alter ego, Mister Six, to help explain things. What I am currently doing and plan to do to in order to improve my health. A side benefit could be to those who are interested, before it's too late.

  • Keep in mind it’s not all about older people extending their lives. Remember they shoot horses don’t they? Cheaper disposal and euthanasia.
  • It’s also about being a guinea pig for treatment for my younger new Tik Tok friends with chronic pain. On occasion, I will still provide business and social commentary, primarily as they pertain to economic development. No matter, when you're unfiltered.

To paraphrase Willie Sutton about banks "Go where the money (youth, aka TIK TOK) is... and go there often.

Other reasons? I continually get requests and comments, although I'm in my 70's, and in fair health:

  • Requests for me to listen to a new pitch on a service or product. I keep telling them that ideas are a dime a dozen. No longer any better mousetrap or "field of dreams" successes, it's all about execution and attention to details that were missed by pioneers- check out billionaires Walton, Gates, Jobs, Musk, etc. and how they capitalized on the ideas of others.

  • Requests to discuss their interests (aka new Linkedin contacts), "We know we can help your company grow". First step would be to read my articles in detail to see how I can help them - read and listen. Lost art!
  • As you will find in my TIK TOK video, I am available (Mister Six) for a nominal appearance fee. A portion (sometimes all) will be going for charities. In development stage.

I will only listen to new opportunities when paid to listen, at my age, my time has become my most valuable asset! Access to my social network ranks next to it. I'm serious about my role as a gatekeeper.

My Linkedin articles have been written with my most utmost attention to detail. “Details matter. It’s worth waiting to get it right.” – Steve Jobs. ??

My new project is in the rudimentary stage. My TikTok account name is Mister Parkinson6 to follow my progress or regress. In simple terms I need followers and ideas. You're always compensated (primarily by contributions to your charities and/or bartering)

Addendum

For my contacts (A few, same people who cried when James Bond died)

Devotional on my 50th wedding anniversary September 3rd, 2014; so we will be "celebrating" our 58th sooner or later depending on when you read this (9/03/2022).

Came across video with only 3 views. Devo was on marriage, 1964 sports -- hint honeymoon was in St Louis. Razorbacks was national football champions.

I even started with a Retha Keener quote about the hot weather at that time (2014) "If it's any hotter in hell I sure wouldn't want to go there!

OK even the sound of a black is creepy as hell, so Retha is on to something.

Nice thing about getting old(er) --Retha aka Redwing is 97ish -- is being unfiltered - some might say unhinged. I can relate.

Note how much bigger the camera made me look! Ha! But seriously one of the signs (overweight) of oncoming health issues.

I don't do devos very often (not asked), length obviously a reason and problem.

I do recall inviting the whole congregation to Dixie Café (now Jamie's Local Flavor) to celebrate after services. Only caveat was the only part that I covered was a low price (cheap) dessert.

Note: Since devo was not seen my many (less than 10), I'm hoping I will be able to repurpose it for many more anniversaries to come. No doubt Retha will be around. Just your and my secret!

Additional

take on old quote "Go where the money (youth) is... and go there often". Willie Sutton

Kiwanis interview also gives additional insight on my commitment to youth, as in young people. Reason for role as guinea pig for new medical treatments, as mentioned in my video.

Guinea pig presentation, it's all in the presentation!
