Remote Work brings new inspiration: What’s your Working Genius?

One of the benefits of working remotely has been cross-pollinating leadership and innovation approaches and theories with my favorite innovator and leader outside my industry – my husband. He brought Patrick Lencioni’s ideas forward to me so many times this past year, building on The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, and serendipitously overlapping with my adjunct teaching research of the same author’s The Advantage: Why Organizational Health Trumps Everything Else in Business. Of all the valuable leadership insights, the one I am most compelled to share is the brand new (Nov. 2020) Working Genius assessment.

Working Genius helps you drive success at work and enjoy your life and work more

At home: I realized when we shared it with our adult children, and debriefed our results together, that this was a powerful way to understand the gifts and talents within our own family.

At work: I realized when I shared this with our innovation learning and development team, this week, that I believe Patrick Lencioni has something new and important to share with the world of innovation at work – another, additive, way for us to think about how we work together.

My opinion? Different from behavioral styles, DISC, MBTI, StrengthsFinder - this assessment clearly outlines the stages of conceiving an idea and driving it to completion, essentially driving innovation on the best ideas only. Each of us has working geniuses, working competencies, and - wait for it - working frustrations, the things that don't energize us. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Best-selling author Patrick Lencioni offers answers to these and other key business questions with his most provocative—and productive—idea so far: The Six Types of Working Genius.” – Dan Bigman, January 4, 2021 Chief Executive

Learn more and get ? off the assessment - $12.50 vs. full price $25. “Bestselling author, Patrick Lencioni talks about how to find your genius and discover your natural talents at work. It's something that will help you not only in your work but also all throughout your life.” Jon Gordon

When it comes to innovation I really appreciate Karina F.’s human perspective; it takes many skill sets. It’s a leadership capability. “nnovation also has multiple skill demands...your time, your emotional intelligence, your ability to see beyond your own needs and personal vision, and your ability to lead in ambiguity. Leaders who can do this are simply priceless. Leaders who cannot will struggle. A lot.” https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/karina-forrest-perkins-mhr-9338902_leadership-leadershipdevelopment-ceolife-activity-6771557633234206720-8r_z
