This year, we implemented the EOS model, or Entrepreneurial Operating System, a set of tools and principles that has helped us clarify, simplify, and achieve our vision.

This sounds easy in theory. You just don't know what you don't know when it comes to implementation of processes and systems.

As I led my first EOS meeting, I remember feeling anxious. It is clear that growth is uncomfortable as you are doing things differently. You put your trust in the process though by showing up.

Week after week, we continue to rank our meeting from 1 to 10. 7 is the standard but above 8 means you are moving the needle. Our last meeting scored an 8.6. Lets go!

This holistic approach focuses on six key components:

1. Vision: Identify what 5 years from now will look like for you. Who do you have to become to get there?
2. People: Are you in the right seat with the right people?
3. Data: Are you tracking the appropriate data to make the most informed decisions?
4. Issues: Are you addressing your shortfalls and finding solutions?
5. Process: Do you have the appropriate processes and systems in place to make your vision a reality?
6. Traction: Are you executing on your plan and achieving your goals?

Do you know your #1 number? If there was 1 number that would get you to where you have never been before, what would it be? Why would it be that number?

My number has changed and yours will too. The evolving nature of growth is that it does not standstill.

Accountability and alignment is not always sexy but it something you must embrace.
