Got scale-up questions for Aergos? Founding Chair Professor Hari Nair has answers
When a new technology like HaemaFrac? comes along, it is understandable that it challenges the status quo and accepted thinking.
One of the questions Aegros gets asked is "how does your technology scale-up from laboratory operations to commercial operations?" Well, wonder no more.
By popular demand, Aegros is proud to present this video of Professor Hari Nair's HaemaFrac? scale-up case study that was delivered to the Advanced Manufacturing Workshop at the Australian Institute of Bioengineering & Nanotechnology (University of Queensland).
In taking the HaemaFrac? from the lab bench to the commercial scale, Aegros has benefitted from a linear scale-up process, centred around its single use membrane and cartridge technology.
In this video, Professor Nair explains how the HaemaFrac? membranes and cartridges allow for the increase in process volumes through replication rather than through enlargement.
This contrasts favourably with the non-linear scale-up challenges faced by others in the bioengineering field, as showcased through the other case studies that were presented at the Advanced Manufacturing Workshop.
You can watch the full video of the Workshop on YouTube to compare how Aegros' HaemaFrac? scale-up differs from those faced by other biomanufacturers.
Aegros was proud to be a sponsor of the Advanced Manufacturing Workshop and looks forward to further knowledge sharing opportunities with our colleagues in industry and academia.
