Got questions about OKRs?

Got questions about OKRs?

Later this week, I’m joined by Jeff Gothelf to talk about OKRs, but in a new light.

See, you all know OKRs as a tool that you can use to measure success at work, but how many of you have used them to improve your personal circumstances?

In this fireside chat, Jeff and I will be talking about how to put OKRs (Objectives and Key Results, the uninitiated ?) to work at both work and in your personal life.

You can join us tomorrow and drop in on this conversation:

  • Date: Thursday, March 18th
  • Time: 10am PST / 1pm EST / 5pm GMT
  • Register here:  Webinar registration on Zoom
  • Bring: A hot drink and your burning questions ?

Now, OKRs can be a bit of a tricky beast. How many of us have tried them in one form or another and just had them fall flat on their face? ???♀?

That’s something we’ll talk about on Thursday. There’s a number of gotchas, things that’ll make OKRs harder to implement and common things that trip up teams all the time. For example, have you ever set a Key Result which was really just “do this thing/launch feature X”, or reverse engineered your KRs to match what was already in your backlog? ??

Jeff, as a coach, consultant, author and product expert, can offer up some advice on exactly these sorts of OKR anti-patterns as well as guidance on how to make them work for your team.

But we’ll also dive into what he talks about in his latest book, Forever Employable, about how OKRs aren’t just for business. They can be applied in all parts of your life, including helping to build your personal brand and career, as this sets the stage for understanding your goals and being able to experiment and iterate your way to your next opportunities.

It's going to be an engaging and interactive session (complete with some whiteboarding action!), chockful of examples and good conversation, so save your space today and stop by on Thursday to join the session.

Now, as I prepare for Thursday, drop your OKR related questions in the comments below! ??
