Got a meeting? Need to have it in a café? Here are our Top 5 café’s to have a pow wow in:

As a PR Recruiter going out to meet candidates for coffee is a daily routine. When you’re out for a coffee meeting there is nothing worse than booking in a café that has no seating, music too loud or bad coffee.

Stay clear of the big chains and take your meeting to a café where there is art on top of your smooth latte, a beautiful space to absorb and delicious treats if you get a bit peckish.

The Department of Coffee & Social Affairs – Leather Lane (Closest Tube Chancery Lane)

With its wooden floors, buzzing atmosphere and ample seating there is no better place to have a meeting in the growing creative hub of London. The café is filled with PR’s quickly typing away, ad executives making calls and creative copywriters looking for their next hit of inspiration.
The coffee is silky smooth and is served fast. If you’re trying to avoid one of the big chains these guys have 8 locations so one might be near you. Check them out Here

Gail’s – 23 locations across London

They are starting to become a chain but their chilled out atmosphere, warm interiors and spot on food make them a top choice when you are struggling for options. If you're wanting to have a quick bite to eat during your meeting, order the corn fritters with chilli jam and a side of bacon. We regularly visit the Marylebone store for offsite meetings and some chill out time.

The Black Lab Café – Clapham Common

It’s probably a rarity that you’ll have a meeting in Clapham. However, on the odd chance you are heading south The Black Lab Café should be on the top of your list. The London Coffee Guide has listed them in their top 30 and for good reason. The coffee beats the competition and if you’re all caffined out their Chai Latte is the best south of the river.

It’s a cosy little café but there is always seating available and the lounges at the back provide a good area to chat freely.  Their delicious toasted sandwiches and cronuts will keep you fuelled all day.

Ozone Coffee Roasters – Old Street / Shoreditch

Horrible name. Beautiful café. I’ve been twice now and they don’t disappoint. If you’re getting in for an 8am you’ll have no trouble getting a table. Whilst you wait for your appointment to arrive, you can watch the streams of people coming in for their daily fix.

However, if you are there over the lunch break period you might need to wait 10-15 min for a table (I got in within 5). They serve a scrumptious menu which you can see being cooked in the open kitchen. The best part – brunch is served until 4pm so eggs benedict it was!

Tables are far enough apart for you to have a confidential meeting. When you’ve finished head down stairs to their equally impressive bathrooms. Along the way you’ll see barista courses being run and their own roasting machine hard at work. https://www.ozonecoffee.co.uk/

Taylor Street Barista’s – Bank

Good coffee, side street location and ample space makes these guys fall into my top 5 cafes for a meeting. It’s buzzing with activity and the food is spot on. The team are super friendly and service is fast so if you want to wrap things up pretty quickly it’s perfect.

They are also up to £1.8 million in funding on crowd cube so you’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the future. www.taylor-st.com
