GORE-TEX ///Everyone is an associate.
Let's look at Gore, makers of GORE-TEX, the outdoor clothing. Their core beliefs are things like believe in the individual, the power of small teams, all in the same boat, long-term view. The interesting thing about Gore is that they've got no managers. No one has a job title. When someone joins, they're an associate. Everyone is an associate. They work on the principle of followership. So if you are good at something, then you lead that particular project. Then when the next project comes along and it's something different and something that you're not good at, someone else leads it, and you become a team member. So they remove the organisational class system, and that is really important in organisations.I'm not suggesting that one goes that far, because it would be very difficult if your organisation isn't mature enough to adopt something like that. But look at how you can break down some of those organisational class systems in a small way.Dr. N Shehabuddeen/Innovation.
